DC Machine



   DC machine 

  • The output of the DC machine is DC output as it converts AC voltage to DC voltage. 
  • The conversion of this mechanism is known as the commutator and these machines are also known as commutating machines.
  • DC machine is most frequently used for a motor. The main benefits of this machine includes torque regulation & easy speed.
  • The  DC machine is used in trains, mills, and mines.
  • Like  underground subway cars, as well as trolleys, may utilize DC motors. In the past, automobiles were designed with DC dynamos for charging their batteries.

DC machine is Classified 

  1. DC Generator
  2. DC Motor 

Generators- These machines convert mechanical input power into electrical output power.

             Note:- In the case of DC generator output is DC power

                         In the case of AC generator output is AC power

    Motor- These machines convert electrical input power into mechanical output power.

             Note:- In the case of DC generator output is DC power

                           In the case of AC generator output is AC power
